About the Center
Bright Horizons
The WVU Child Learning Center is managed by Bright Horizons. Bright Horizons knows that childhood is a treasured time and provides environments and experiences that capture the joys of childhood, nurture each child’s individual growth and development, and pave the way for success in school and life.
Location and Directions
The WVU Child Learning Center is located at 201 Laurel Street, adjacent to Krepps Park.
From the East: Take Don Knotts Blvd. to Beechurst Ave. to Monongalia Blvd. At WVU Coliseum turn onto Patteson Drive and then left on Laurel Street. WVU Child Learning Center (CLC) is on left.
From the West: Take Monongalia Blvd. At WVU Coliseum turn onto Patteson Drive and then left on Laurel Street. WVU Child Learning Center (CLC) is on left.
Hours of Operation
Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The WVU Child Learning Center is closed for all
University-observed holidays.
Enrollment
In order to enroll your child(ren), you must visit the Family Information Center, create a family account, register your child(ren), and pay a registration fee of $50.00 per child.
If you are a WVU employee or student, you will need to add your WVUID number or your employee number to your family account in the Family Information Center to receive priority placement.
Registration will be dated and time stamped upon receipt since enrollment is on a "first-come, first-served basis.
Upon acceptance of your registration, your child(ren) will be reserved a space(s) at the WVU Child Learning Center or placed on the waiting list if the room is enrolled to capacity. Once a space has been reserved for your child, you will receive an offer of enrollment. Within 2 business days of receipt of that offer, you must pay the first month’s tuition to guarantee your child(ren)’s space(s) in the center.
Capacity
The Center can accommodate 204 children.
The number of children that can be cared for in each age group and the child to staff ratios are as follows:

To be eligible for the WVU rate, students must be at least half-time (6 hours per semester for undergraduates or 5 hours per semester for graduate students).
To be eligible for the WVU rate, employees must be benefits-eligible and receive a State of West Virginia paycheck.
Full-time enrollment is the standard for the Center. Drop-in care is available for ages 6 weeks to 5 years old, when classroom space is available. Families must be pre-registered with completed enrollment paperwork on file to use drop-in care. To learn more about drop-in care, please call the Center at 304-293-4866.
