About the Center

Location and Directions:

The Center is located at 201 Laurel Street adjacent to Krepps Park.

From the East: Take Don Knotts Blvd. to Beechurst Ave. to Monongalia Blvd. At WVU Coliseum turn onto Patteson Drive and then left on Laurel Street. WVU Child Learning Center (CLC) is on left.

From West: Take Monongalia Blvd. At WVU Coliseum turn onto Patteson Drive and then left on Laurel Street. WVU Child Learning Center (CLC) is on left.

Hours of Operation

Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m to 6:00 p.m.

The WVU Child Learning Center is closed for all  University observed holidays

Enrollment

In order to enroll your child(ren), you must complete a  form and pay a pre-enrollment fee of $50.00 per child.

If you are a WVU employee or student, you will need either your WVUID number or your employee number in order to complete the Pre-Enrollment Application and receive priority placement.

Completed applications and payment of enrollment fees (check or money order) should be mailed to WVU Child Learning Center, 201 Laurel Street, Morgantown, WV 26506.

Pre-Enrollment Applications will be dated and time stamped upon receipt since enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis.

Upon acceptance of your registration, your child(ren) will be reserved a slot(s) at the WVU Child Learning Center or placed on the Waiting List if the room is enrolled to capacity. Once a slot has been reserved for your child, you will receive an offer of enrollment. Within 5 business days of receipt of that offer, you must pay the first week’s tuition plus a one-time registration fee of $50 in order to guarantee your child(ren)’s slot(s) in the CLC.

Capacity

The Center can accommodate 204 children. In addition, the Center is licensed to run a 32 child off-site Summer Program.

The number of children that can be cared for in each age group and the child to staff ratios are as follows:

In order to be eligible for the WVU rate, students must be at least half-time (6 hours per semester for undergraduates or 5 hours per semester for graduate students).

In order to be eligible for the WVU rate, employees must be benefits-eligible and receive a State of West Virginia paycheck.

Enrollment contract options include full-time, part-time and part day attendance (subject to availability). Drop in care is not offered. A summer school age program is offered during the Monongalia County Schools’ summer break.
